DICE Foundation presented Pakistan with the Nur-E 75, the nation’s first homegrown electric hatchback car, for its 75th birthday!
With assistance from regional academia and industry, the DICE Foundation, a non-profit organisation with headquarters in the United States and led by Pakistani expats, has created and constructed this electric car prototype. Nur-E is the name of the first electric hatchback in Pakistan’s prototype (named after Noor). JaXari is the name of the electric vehicle manufacturer (named after a scientist from the 12 century, Ismael al-Jazari).

- Peak Torque: 200 Nm
- Range: 210 km+ with AC on (actual range still to be tested)
- Battery size: 35 KwHr

- Charging time
Slow charging – 7 to 8 hr (from regular 220V outlet)
Fast charging – 2 hr (from fast DC chargers, still to be tested)

The Pakistani automobile sector has taken a fantastic and ground-breaking move with the Nur-E concept, which is still in its early stages. The DICE Foundation intends to obtain enough funding to construct the prototype commercially, which might take up to three years.
