Ministry of IT and Telecommunication Pakistan has highlighted the role of local startups working in the autism space, marking World Autism Awareness Day with a focus on actionable support rather than awareness alone. The ministry acknowledged the contributions of two Pakistan-based startups, Haprow and AutiConnects, which are working to improve accessibility and support systems for children and individuals on the autism spectrum.

In its message, the ministry emphasised that autism spectrum disorder is a lifelong neurodevelopmental condition that affects communication, social interaction, and behaviour, often becoming noticeable in early childhood. By supporting technology driven initiatives, the ministry aims to help expand access to services and tools that can assist individuals with autism and their families. The acknowledgement also reflects a broader push towards digital inclusion, where emerging technologies are being leveraged to address social and healthcare challenges.

Both startups expressed appreciation for the recognition, noting that such support helps amplify their work and reach a wider audience. Haprow focuses on using Artificial Intelligence and robotics to create assistive solutions tailored for children with autism, while AutiConnects works on building platforms that connect individuals with resources, support networks, and specialised services. Their efforts highlight how local innovation is contributing to addressing gaps in awareness, accessibility, and care within Pakistan.

The initiative underscores the importance of collaboration between public institutions and startups in tackling complex societal issues. As awareness around autism continues to grow, stakeholders are increasingly looking towards technology enabled solutions to provide meaningful support. By promoting startups working in this space, the ministry aims to encourage further innovation and ensure that more individuals can benefit from accessible and inclusive digital tools across Pakistan.
