Metrix collaborated with the KPK Government and Hazara University to host one of the largest three-day Tech Summit of 2022 at the university.
In order to highlight the significance of Web3, Blockchain, and other novel technologies that can revitalise businesses and boost the nation’s economic growth, Metrix organised the largest Tech Summit of 2022, a three-day event, at the university from Friday, October 28, 2022, to Sunday, October 30, 2022.
Tech aficionados, including representatives from the government, private businesses, entrepreneurs, and students, attended the summit, which was co-organized by Hazara University and the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Mushtaq Ahmed Ghani, the governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, opened it and stated that the use of new technology has radically transformed work as a result of globalisation. Our young people must comprehend these new developments and apply them to advance society.
Saleh Muhammad Khan, an MNA and preliminary secretary, was present at the event as well. He commended the organisers for gathering such like-minded people under one roof.
On Day 3 of the tech summit, vice chancellors from Abbottabad University, Hazara University, The University of Haripur, and Pak Austria University also attended and applauded the events put on by the organisers.
The Vice Chancellor of Pak Austria University, Dr. Mohammad Mujahid, stated that “the world is changing at a quick speed. The Pakistani youth need to educate themselves on the mechanics of tech-driven progress and seek to improve society.
Hamza Khan, the Binance Growth Manager, made the argument during a keynote presentation on Web3 that “such events should be of frequent occurrence to create an entrepreneurial mindset among the young of Pakistan.” The Tech Summit’s Platinum Sponsor was Binance.
The conference’s creator and founder, Hassan Nisar, stressed the significance of mastering future technologies because they “are the only path ahead to get out of our current financial position.”
A total of 30,000 people attended the summit, with 18,000 people showing up on day one and 12,000 people showing up on day two. It was the “largest tech summit” of KPK in the Hazara region, according to summit organisers.
With seminars on freelance employment, cyber security, e-sports, women’s empowerment sessions, an awards ceremony, and workshops on blockchain and Web3, the Metrix Tech Summit came to a close. The goal of the tech conference was to reintroduce online revenue streams like freelancing and e-commerce as well as introduce cutting-edge technology like Web3, Metaverse, and Blockchain to control them.
Awards for Freelancing
The Metrix Tech Summit’s freelancing awards were a major highlight. KPK has a large network of independent contractors who collaborate with businesses and clients all around the world. 20 freelancers who had had the most success were recognised at the occasion for their efforts.
Most popular, most orders completed, and most profit gained on Fiverr and Upwork were divided up into separate awards sections.
A platform for entrepreneurs was also provided by Metrix Tech Summit under the name “Idea pad.” An entrepreneur pitching contest called The Idea Pad was held. Entrepreneurs who were interested in doing so presented their ideas to judges who evaluated them.
The E-Sport competition held over the course of the three days of the Metrix Tech Summit was one of its highlights. The competition featured a variety of titles, including CS:GO, PUBG, and others. A large number of awards were also given to the E-Sport event winners.
Over the past ten years, the nation has experienced an increase in cyber security issues. It is impossible to fathom the extent to which these issues are growing.
World-renowned cyber security expert Rafay Baloch spoke about one such issue, called “Deep Fake,” and how it affects social media users. He also gave a presentation on the subject in which he offered fixes for the problem.
A cyber security awareness conference was held with the goal of educating Pakistan’s young people about the issues surrounding cyber security. Ammar Jafri, EX DG FIA, also discussed his perspective on the escalating cyber security issues and how the FIA is addressing them.
In order to help young people comprehend and deal with the security conundrum, researchers and industry experts from the industry shared their experiments and ideas at the conference.
Accelerate Prosperity (AP) Pakistan held a consultative policy workshop during the tech summit to promote the creation of an environment that is conducive to the development and growth of startups and early-stage companies in the IT sector.
Understanding the technological ecosystem and how it affects laws and regulations was the goal of the workshop. It provided solutions to support creative businesspeople who want to make government policy recommendations that can be put into practice.
A workshop on women’s empowerment was offered at the tech summit to encourage women to get involved in the industry, especially in KPK. Tanveer Nandla and Sikander Ali, two well-known freelance gurus, led a session on women’s empowerment.
The executive director of Pine Hills and co-founder of Metrix, Harmain Ghani, stated that they intend to host the tech summit again the following year. He continued,
“The next tech summit would have three times more attendees and activities.”
