The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Higher Education Department has launched a fully online admission system for Intermediate Part-I applications to government colleges across the province, allowing students to complete the entire process, from account creation to final college selection, through a single web based portal rather than relying on in person paperwork submitted at individual institutions.

Under the new system, applicants must first create an account on the admission portal before entering their academic information. The platform is designed to fetch academic records directly from the relevant education board wherever possible, reducing the need for manual data entry, though students whose records are not automatically available can still enter the required details themselves. Once academic information has been submitted, applicants are required to provide their personal details before selecting the government college they wish to apply to, with the system structured to guide users through each stage in sequence rather than requiring separate physical visits to different offices.

Payment of the application processing fee is handled digitally as well, with students required to complete the transaction through JazzCash before their application can be finalised. The integration of a mobile wallet based payment option reflects a broader shift among provincial education departments toward reducing cash based transactions in administrative processes, aligning with similar digitisation efforts already underway in other public sector services across the country. Once submitted, applicants are able to track the status of their application directly through the portal, receiving regular updates as their submission moves through the review process rather than needing to make inquiries in person or by phone.

Government colleges will publish merit lists once the application window closes, with students able to check their admission status through the same online platform used to submit their original application. This consolidation of the application, payment, tracking and results process into a single digital system marks a departure from the more fragmented, paper heavy admission procedures that have traditionally characterised college enrollment in the province, and follows a broader pattern of provincial education departments moving toward centralised online systems for managing large scale annual admission cycles. Punjab has pursued a similar shift in recent days, having announced plans to introduce fully online college admissions as well, suggesting a degree of coordination or at least parallel momentum across provincial education departments toward digitising enrollment processes during the current academic admission cycle.

Applicants who encounter technical issues or have questions about the process have been directed to contact the department’s admission support team by phone, available on weekdays during standard business hours. Students have been advised to complete their applications well ahead of the deadline and to continue monitoring the portal for updates on merit lists and further instructions, as the province moves through what officials describe as one of its most significant admission cycles to be run entirely through a digital system rather than a hybrid or manual process.
