The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa administration has announced plans to provide complimentary Wi-Fi access in public parks across Peshawar, aiming to enhance citizens’ connectivity and convenience.

Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur chaired a session focusing on improving the aesthetic appeal of the provincial capital. During the meeting, instructions were issued to expedite arrangements for the free Wi-Fi service, with plans to extend it to other cities in the region soon.

In addition to the Wi-Fi initiative, the government intends to enhance Peshawar’s beauty. The Peshawar Development Authority has been tasked with devising a comprehensive plan for this purpose.

Furthermore, the KP government plans to introduce a Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) service on Nasir Bagh Road, aiming to enhance public transport accessibility in the city.

To improve energy efficiency, street lights in Peshawar will be converted to solar-powered bulbs. Chief Minister Gandapur also advocated for the construction of more underpasses instead of overhead bridges.

Construction activities for the pending segment of the Warsak-Nasir Bagh Road will commence, alongside necessary repairs along the BRT Corridor encircling the University Road.

The chief minister emphasized the installation of artificial foliage along pathways and the embellishment of walls and pedestrian bridges with culturally significant designs, highlighting Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s rich heritage.

To achieve these goals, cooperation from private entities will be sought, reflecting the government’s commitment to enhancing the quality of life for citizens in Peshawar and beyond.
