The Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has announced a major digital skills initiative aimed at equipping youth with industry-relevant expertise and increasing access to dignified employment across the province. Under this new program, titled Skills, Certification & Jobs, the government will offer free training to 27,450 individuals, with 2,888 seats specifically reserved for women to promote inclusive participation in the digital economy.

The initiative focuses on delivering high-demand skills through structured, technology-enabled learning. Participants will be trained in areas such as Artificial Intelligence, Web Development, UI/UX Design, Digital Marketing, and other emerging fields. The course offerings have been selected in consultation with industry stakeholders to ensure relevance in today’s rapidly evolving job market. By aligning curriculum with in-demand technologies, the program aims to create a strong talent pool that can contribute to both local and global digital economies.

Each training course will be delivered through a Learning Management System (LMS) to ensure consistency, accessibility, and scalability. Learners will have access to digital content, guided modules, and structured assessments, enabling them to gain proficiency at their own pace. The LMS-based model also supports blended learning environments, which combine online resources with mentorship and instructor guidance where needed.

Industry linkage is a core component of this program. The government has partnered with training providers and companies to create pathways for certification, internships, and employment. By fostering collaboration with the private sector, the program is expected to bridge the gap between education and job-readiness, offering participants a clear route into the workforce upon completion of their training.

The program is part of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s broader strategy to promote digital inclusion and future-ready skills among its youth population. It also reflects a commitment to gender equity, with nearly 3,000 spots reserved for women, encouraging their entry into technology fields where representation has traditionally been low. The inclusion of women in core areas such as AI and UI/UX design reflects the province’s intent to reshape workforce dynamics and expand access to digital opportunities for all.

Applications for the program are now open and will be accepted until August 5, 2025. Interested candidates can apply online through the government’s official platform at JOINIT.KP.GOV.PK. With no cost of enrollment and a curriculum designed to match current industry standards, the program offers a unique opportunity for thousands of individuals to gain practical, job-ready digital skills.

This government-led training effort is expected to significantly boost employability and entrepreneurship, while laying the groundwork for a more digitally skilled and resilient workforce in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
