The Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training, in collaboration with the Cisco Networking Academy, has launched a comprehensive program of free online technology courses aimed at improving digital literacy and practical skills among students across Pakistan. The initiative is designed to offer self-paced learning in cybersecurity, information technology, artificial intelligence, and networking, enabling learners to access course materials anytime and from any location. This effort reflects the government’s commitment to equipping students with relevant technological skills to navigate an increasingly digital academic and professional environment. The program provides structured guidance from qualified instructors, who will assist students throughout the course duration, answering questions and offering support to ensure a meaningful learning experience.

Participants who successfully complete the courses will receive digital certificates embedded with QR codes, along with badges issued via Credly, recognising their newly acquired skills. The courses are structured progressively, allowing students to start with foundational knowledge and gradually advance to more complex concepts at their own pace. Eligibility criteria require students to be in Grade 9 or above and possess basic IT or networking knowledge, ensuring that learners can follow the material effectively. The curriculum includes six courses covering Introduction to Cybersecurity, Introduction to Modern AI, Digital Safety and Security Awareness, Introduction to IoT and Digital Transformation, Networking Basics, and Industrial Networking Essentials. Each course incorporates a minimum passing requirement of sixty percent to qualify for certification, with deadlines set to ensure timely completion.

The rollout of this online program coincides with broader efforts to build Pakistan’s digital capacity and foster a workforce capable of meeting industry demands in technology and innovation sectors. The courses are designed not only to provide theoretical knowledge but also to enhance practical skills through interactive modules and exercises. Students are encouraged to make use of the flexible timing to complete the coursework during school breaks or after exams, enabling widespread participation without disrupting regular academic commitments. This initiative further aligns with national strategies for youth empowerment and digital skills development, bridging gaps between classroom learning and emerging industry requirements.

Interested candidates can apply for the courses by scanning the QR codes provided in official communications or by visiting the MOFEPT skills portal directly. All applications and course completions must be submitted by March 8, 2026, giving students sufficient time to register and progress through the learning material. With digital badges and certification becoming increasingly recognised in both academia and industry, the program provides students a tangible advantage in demonstrating competencies in modern technology domains. Through this collaboration between MOFEPT and Cisco, Pakistan aims to foster a digitally capable generation ready to participate in the global technological ecosystem.
