The Karachi School of Business and Leadership (KSBL) has secured a significant academic and professional milestone after its team emerged victorious at the CFA Institute Research Challenge 2026 Sub-Regional Competition, organised by CFA Society Pakistan. The win qualifies the KSBL team for the Asia Pacific Regional Semi-Final round, placing the institution among an elite group of universities competing at the highest level of student financial research and analysis globally.
The winning team comprises Daniyal Lohana, Anusha Jauhar, Iliyan Suleman, Manal Adil, and Sheikh Muhammad Salman, who competed under the mentorship of Talha Ameer Khan, CFA. The CFA Institute Research Challenge is a prestigious annual global competition that tasks university students with conducting in-depth equity research and presenting their findings to a panel of industry professionals, testing participants on their analytical rigour, financial modelling, presentation skills, and understanding of real-world investment dynamics. Competing successfully at the sub-regional level is a strong indicator of both individual calibre and institutional academic strength, and the team’s advancement to the Asia Pacific semi-finals reflects the quality of finance education and professional development KSBL has cultivated.
The achievement has drawn congratulations from Brand and Media Learning Hub, which highlighted the win as a proud moment for KSBL and for Pakistan’s broader business education landscape. With the Asia Pacific Regional Semi-Final round now ahead of them, the KSBL team will go up against top university teams from across one of the world’s most competitive and dynamic financial regions. Their success at the sub-regional stage positions them as credible contenders at the next level and reflects well on the mentorship of Talha Ameer Khan and the institutional support provided by KSBL in preparing students for globally recognised professional challenges.
