Islamabad IT Park is approaching its final phase as officials report significant progress on the long-awaited project. During a recent National Assembly Standing Committee on Information Technology meeting, key authorities confirmed that construction is moving at an accelerated pace, with contractors expanding the workforce to meet impending targets. Project Director Amir Ahmad stated that 98% of the park’s structure is now complete, signaling that physical construction is nearly finished. Shaza Fatima, providing further insight, reported that the project has reached 80% overall completion, reflecting a substantial surge in productivity, particularly over the past year. These figures highlight the increasing efficiency and dedication of teams working on this technology landmark. The accelerated progress is also credited to improved coordination among contractors, engineers, and government officials, who have closely monitored the project since its inception in 2017.

Shaza Fatima highlighted that 60% of the total work was completed within the last twelve months, indicating an unprecedented acceleration in development. This rapid pace is reportedly influenced by high-level attention, with the Prime Minister personally monitoring the project on a daily basis and inquiring about its status. Officials emphasized that Islamabad IT Park, which began nearly eight years ago, is now entering the final stages, with structural completion paving the way for interior work, technological integration, and operational setups. The Ministry of IT’s briefing to the committee reinforced that the project is progressing efficiently, although initial targets for December 31, 2025, are now under review due to the scale of finishing work required. The remaining tasks include installation of IT infrastructure, power systems, network connectivity, and preparation of office spaces to accommodate technology firms, startups, and innovation hubs.

Focus has now shifted to the final delivery schedule, with Project Director Amir Ahmad aiming to complete the park by January 2026. However, the National Assembly Committee has issued firm instructions for timely delivery, leaving minimal room for delays. The Committee Chairman directed all stakeholders to ensure that Islamabad IT Park is completed by February 28, 2026, emphasizing strict adherence to deadlines and accountability at every level. Contractors and project teams have reportedly intensified on-site work, deploying additional labor, machinery, and project management resources to meet the government-mandated timeline. Officials noted that coordination between civil works, IT setup teams, and operational planning units has been crucial in maintaining progress and avoiding bottlenecks as the project moves into its concluding stages.

As the structure nears completion, preparations are underway for Islamabad IT Park to become a central hub for technology, innovation, and entrepreneurship in Pakistan. The park is expected to significantly enhance the digital infrastructure of Islamabad, providing a platform for startups, established IT companies, and potential international collaborations. By offering office spaces, innovation labs, and technology-driven work environments, the park aims to attract both local and foreign investment in Pakistan’s IT sector. With construction entering its final lap and deadlines closely monitored by government officials, Islamabad IT Park is positioned to emerge as a landmark development in the country’s technology landscape. It reflects sustained efforts in government oversight, project management, and workforce mobilization, highlighting Pakistan’s growing focus on creating modern infrastructure to support the nation’s digital economy and future technology initiatives.
