Syed Amin Ul Haque, the federal minister for information technology and telecommunications, has given the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) and Pakistan Telecommunication Company Ltd. (PTCL) authorities instructions to quickly address the current network problems.

The minister stated that people are impacted by the situation and instructed the authorities to find and fix the network problems.

The IT Minister claims that the recent rain and flooding have caused technical issues with PTCL’s optical fibre network in the country’s northern and central regions. As a result, there have been issues with connection to the internet since this morning.

The PTCL authorities reacted by saying that they are striving to restore internet service as soon as possible for the customers’ comfort. Customers’ worries were addressed by PTCL in a recent tweet, which said,

“PTCL has detected a problem in data networks between South and North which is creating internet connectivity issues.”
