The Employers’ Federation of Pakistan (EFP) has named foodpanda as one of the “top 10” companies in Pakistan that promotes women’s empowerment through its operations.
The award results from research conducted by EFP on 250 organisations that support and practise women’s empowerment. The study sought to comprehend the various means by which businesses have implemented inclusive policy reforms to encourage female entrepreneurship.
The research helped shape EFP’s National Publication on Women Empowerment, which featured foodpanda as one of the 10 Best Business Case Studies out of 250 businesses.
In response to the accomplishment, foodpanda’s managing director and chief executive officer, Muntaqa Peracha, said: “It makes us extremely proud to be in a position to empower so many women around the country to create their own opportunities.”
“Through the foodpanda company, women are defying stereotypes, making significant advances in business as exceptional role models, and the future is bright. We are dedicated to advancing the cause of female empowerment by offering opportunities for sustainable livelihoods on our platform, the speaker continued.
With funding from the Japanese government’s PSR/STRIDE Project, EFP launched a campaign on women’s emancipation in partnership with the International Labour Organization.
The campaign aims to pave the way for an equal tomorrow by promoting women’s inclusion in the workforce through enterprise-level policy recommendations and entrepreneurship.
