Bandai Namco and Dimps have revealed additional details about Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3, highlighting a new structure that separates the game’s story driven single player experience from its online sandbox features. The upcoming title aims to build upon the foundations of previous Xenoverse entries while introducing a larger and more dynamic world for players to explore. Set in the newly established Age 1000 timeline, the game takes place in a future Dragon Ball universe featuring original characters and storylines inspired by the work of Akira Toriyama. The title is currently scheduled for release in 2027 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and S, and PC.

One of the most notable changes is the distinction between narrative progression and online activities. Players will be able to engage in story content independently while also accessing an expansive online environment designed for social interaction, exploration and multiplayer experiences. This approach is expected to provide greater flexibility, allowing players to focus on story missions at their own pace while still participating in shared activities with the broader community. The new design reflects growing interest in blending traditional role playing mechanics with persistent online worlds.

The game is centered around West City, which serves as a major hub within the Age 1000 setting. Early gameplay demonstrations have showcased a more detailed environment, expanded traversal options and enhanced character interactions. Players will reportedly take on roles connected to the Great Saiyan Squad while exploring new storylines that move beyond the Time Patrol narrative featured in earlier Xenoverse titles. Developers have also emphasized character customization, combat progression and world exploration as key components of the experience.

Community reaction to the latest gameplay details has been largely positive, particularly regarding the introduction of expanded online functionality and reported cross platform features. Fans have welcomed the prospect of a more connected multiplayer environment while maintaining a dedicated single player journey. With additional gameplay showcases expected in the coming months, Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3 is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated anime based game releases currently in development.
