The Diamond Challenge: Calling All High School Student-preneurs!

Created in 2012, the Diamond Challenge is a competition that is aimed at empowering the next generation through entrepreneurship. Since its conception, over 4,000 students from over 35 countries and 25 states have engaged with them. The Challenge came in to being through Horn Entrepreneurship, a cornerstone for entrepreneurial activity based at the University of Delaware.

The Diamond Challenge in partnership with SkillsFirst, has come to Pakistan. Each year multiple schools and a huge number of students participate in the challenge and 2018 is expected to bring in an even bigger number of students this time around. SkillsFirst is a social enterprise that empowers the youth in Pakistan by helping them learn digital and tech skills so they can build a better future.

The date for the live pitch in Islamabad is 9th February 2018 at the National Incubation Center. All semifinalist teams will receive cash prize awards and an invitation to travel to the University of Delaware to compete in the semifinal round. Top prizes include additional funding that may be used to support the team’s venture or serve as a scholarship for higher education.

The team requirements for the competition are that a team must consist of 2-­4 high school students typically between the ages 14-18 years, with one advisor or teacher each. The program is open for students of 9th-12th grade. However, there can be more than one advisor per team as well.

The deadline to apply for the challenge is 5th January 2018. It is very easy all you have to do is:

  • Register yourself on the AwardsPlatform.
  • Click Start New Concept and select Pakistan as Pitch Site and Social Innovation as the Competition Track.
  • Add your team members and advisors.
  • Prepare your Written Concept and Pitch Deck.
  • Upload and Submit.
