Software engineering firm Devsinc has hosted Advisor to the Chief Minister of Punjab on Artificial Intelligence and Special Initiatives, Ali Dar, at its offices, with discussions centred on opportunities for stronger public private collaboration to accelerate AI adoption across the province. The visit was hosted by Devsinc Founder and Chief Executive Officer Usman Asif.
During the visit, Ali Dar briefed the Devsinc team on the AI initiatives his office is driving across Punjab, aimed at accelerating AI adoption, strengthening talent development, and building a more innovation driven technology ecosystem in the province. The discussion touched on the broader institutional push Dar has been leading since his appointment as adviser earlier this year, which has included the planned establishment of a dedicated AI Delivery Unit, expanding AI use across public safety infrastructure through the Punjab Safe Cities Authority, and applying AI driven monitoring to public services such as water quality management through the Punjab Saaf Pani Authority.
Speaking on the visit, Usman Asif said technology alone does not transform nations, arguing that ecosystems built on collaboration between government, industry, academia, and entrepreneurs are what allow countries to lead in the AI era. He pointed to Pakistan’s information technology exports, which now exceed 4 billion dollars annually, as evidence the country has already demonstrated global potential in the sector. Asif said Devsinc has spent nearly two decades building technology from Pakistan for international clients, and that the rise of AI presents an opportunity for stronger public private partnerships to accelerate innovation and deliver lasting impact across the country’s technology sector.
The engagement adds to a series of visits Ali Dar has made to public and private sector organisations across Punjab since assuming his role, during which he has consistently framed the province’s ambition to become a leading AI hub in South Asia, built around a dedicated AI Delivery Unit with an estimated investment potential of 5 to 6 billion dollars. Dar has previously outlined plans for this unit to help transition Punjab toward an AI driven governance model that leverages the country’s technology talent pool, alongside broader efforts to expand AI use in law enforcement, water management, and citizen services through provincial authorities.
For Devsinc, which has built a business model centred on providing access to a large pool of software engineers for international clients, the visit reflects the private sector’s growing engagement with Punjab’s emerging AI policy apparatus. Asif said he looked forward to continuing to work with and contribute to Ali Dar’s efforts, positioning the meeting as part of a broader pattern of dialogue between Pakistan’s established technology companies and the provincial government as it works to translate its AI ambitions into concrete governance and industry outcomes.
