Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar chaired a high-level meeting in Islamabad on Friday to discuss strategies for promoting Pakistan’s IT exports and enhancing the country’s presence in the global technology market. The session focused on leveraging IT and related services as a key driver for economic growth, revenue generation, and strengthening foreign exchange reserves. Officials from the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication (MoITT) presented a detailed overview of current export trends, market opportunities, and initiatives aimed at expanding Pakistan’s IT footprint internationally.
During the meeting, MoITT outlined proposals to support IT companies in scaling operations, tapping into emerging markets, and adopting advanced technologies to meet global standards. The presentation highlighted Pakistan’s potential to become a major IT services hub by promoting software development, digital solutions, and technology-enabled services. Emphasis was placed on improving industry infrastructure, facilitating access to international clients, and encouraging investment in skill development to meet the growing demand for technology professionals.
