Caretaker Federal Minister for Health, Dr. Nadeem Jan, highlighted the importance of timely adoption of emerging technologies for the health sector during a meeting with Federal Minister for Information Technology, Dr. Umar Saif, on Tuesday. The discussion focused on ongoing health sector reforms and the promotion of IT in healthcare.

Dr. Nadeem Jan shared that the Ministry of Health is actively engaged in a reform agenda, with a foundation laid for digitization. He emphasized that the registration and licensing system of the Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan (DRAP) has been successfully digitized, and efforts are underway to computerize pharmacies in government hospitals.

Additionally, data is being computerized in primary health centers, and the digitization initiative within the Ministry of Health will persist under the reform agenda, according to Dr. Nadeem. He stressed that innovation in the health sector is crucial, highlighting the significant role that IT plays in driving advancements.
