AT&T Leads America In Fastest Converged Upload Speeds And Fiber Performance

Opensignal’s first-ever Converged Report has identified AT&T as the leading provider of the fastest converged upload speeds in the United States, outperforming competitors by a significant margin. According to the findings, AT&T’s converged upload speeds were more than twice as fast as those recorded by the closest competing network, highlighting its strong performance across both mobile and home connectivity environments. The report focuses on how converged services, where users subscribe to both mobile and broadband services from the same provider, are shaping overall user experience in an increasingly connected digital ecosystem.

The same report further evaluated performance based on home broadband technologies, particularly for users who rely on a single provider for both fixed internet and mobile services. In this segment, AT&T Fiber ranked number one in both upload and download speed categories, surpassing competing fiber, cable, and fixed wireless providers by double digit margins. The findings indicate that fiber based infrastructure continues to play a key role in delivering high performance connectivity, especially as demand increases for data heavy applications and cloud based services. The report also highlights that integrated network ecosystems are becoming more relevant for users seeking consistent performance across devices and locations.

The importance of upload speed has increased significantly as digital usage patterns evolve, particularly with the expansion of artificial intelligence driven tools and services. The report noted that upstream usage has grown at a faster rate than other broadband usage metrics during 2025, reflecting changing consumer behavior where users are increasingly uploading content, engaging in real time collaboration, and using cloud based platforms. AT&T, which operates one of the largest fiber and wireless networks in the country, stated that it continues to focus on delivering both upload and download performance required for modern digital experiences at home and on the move. The company emphasized that rising AI integration into everyday applications is making high speed, low latency connectivity more essential than ever for users across different environments.

Commenting on the findings, Jenifer Robertson, executive vice president and GM AT&T Mass Markets, stated that fast upload speeds have become essential as customers increasingly game, stream, share content, and rely on AI enabled experiences. She noted that the latest results reinforce AT&T’s position in delivering the performance required for both home broadband and mobile connectivity. The statement highlighted that consistent network performance plays a central role in supporting evolving user expectations and digital consumption patterns across multiple platforms and devices.

AT&T also pointed to its continued investment in fiber and wireless infrastructure as a key factor behind its converged network leadership. The company reported that 42 percent of its home internet customers also subscribe to AT&T wireless services, reflecting strong adoption of bundled connectivity solutions. This integrated approach is supported through ongoing expansion of fiber networks and enhancements to wireless coverage, aimed at improving user experience across both fixed and mobile environments. AT&T added that it remains focused on strengthening its converged service offerings while supporting performance standards under its AT&T Guarantee framework.
