Algerie Telecom has introduced a new SIM only offer for its IDOOM 4G service, aimed at making fixed wireless broadband more accessible while expanding high speed internet connectivity for households and businesses across Algeria. The offer allows customers to purchase an IDOOM 4G SIM card without any bundled hardware, giving users who already own compatible devices greater flexibility in how they manage their connectivity needs.

The initiative is designed to encourage wider adoption of IDOOM 4G services while improving broadband access in areas where fixed line infrastructure remains limited. By removing the requirement to purchase equipment alongside the SIM card, Algerie Telecom is lowering the barrier to entry for customers who may already have routers or other compatible devices, allowing them to activate service more quickly and at a lower upfront cost.

Fixed wireless access has increasingly become an important part of broadband strategies in markets where extending fiber infrastructure to every location remains difficult or costly. Using 4G networks to deliver home and business internet allows operators to roll out reliable broadband more quickly than traditional fixed line deployment, while giving customers faster installation and greater flexibility in choosing their connectivity setup. As broadband demand continues to grow, telecom operators across the region have increasingly combined fiber and wireless technologies to expand nationwide coverage more efficiently.

The launch reflects a broader shift among operators across North Africa toward more flexible, multi technology broadband strategies that combine fiber, 4G, and eventually 5G services to maximize coverage and improve the overall customer experience. Rather than relying on a single access technology, providers in the region are increasingly building integrated connectivity portfolios designed to serve different customer segments and geographic areas more effectively, with expanding broadband access seen as a key factor supporting digital government initiatives, enterprise digitalization and broader participation in Algeria’s growing digital economy.
