Education is the most powerful weapon which can be used to change the world. It helps to aggrandize the personality and leads everyone towards propriety.

Pakistan has a long way to go; the top desideratum for success is education.  A nation which lacks education is left behind in terms of productivity. In 2012, UNESCO presented a report, according to which the illiteracy rate in Pakistan is 72%, which is a high ratio. Reviewing this we can imagine how long it will take for Pakistan to come across its time of tribulation.

In this regard different programs have started, like Teach for Pakistan; training institutions for teachers are built and many more. The chairperson of Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI), Mr. Imran Khan decided to choreograph a program under name Tameer e School on 30th April 2014 at Govt. Girls Primary School, through which people can contribute for improving Education System in Khyber Pakhthun Khwa.

PTI is using IT to raise funds for this project. On the official website, a list of appropriate government schools in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is given.  Once you click on particular school, a brief description about condition of that school is given. People can contribute with a minimum amount Rs. 2000; there is no limit for maximum. Here, donors can either support entire school or a particular improvement. Basic amenities include drinking water, toilets, boundary walls, computer labs, infrastructure etc.

Donations can be made at any branch of United Bank Limited. Once you contribute your fund, you will be allocated an identification number. To ensure that your fund is being used in a scrupulous manner, you can click on “tracking”, and you will be able to track your funds till they are utilized.

Parents Teacher Council is responsible for managing, monitoring and improvement of schools in KPK. It composes staff and parents, having eight members. The chairperson and other three members of council are selected among parents, head teacher or principal acts as a secretary, and rest of three members are chosen by parents from among community notables, retired government officials and an elected councilor of same gender as the school.

Elementary Education Foundation (EEF) is responsible for financing education and development of human resource in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The beneficiation of EEF in this program is, it will cooperate in achieving desired outcomes.

According to government officials, out of 28000 schools 14000 lack basic necessities like toilet, drinking water, boundary walls etc. There are schools in Pakistan which have over 300 students and only two class rooms. This sounds a joke to education and cruelty to a nation.

In inaugural ceremony, Mr. Imran khan said, our country is one of five countries who spend very teeny amount of money on education due to which education sector in Pakistan is in shoddy condition. Furthermore, due to deteriorated condition of schools, teachers are not willing to come to school, and government of KPK has faced a loss of 17 million. Meanwhile, a girl handed Rs. 500 to Imran Khan, which brought tears in eyes of all present there.

PTI is using social media campaigning for promotion. They have asked people to take a picture with # Tameer e school poster and share it with your friends and family on social media with website link www.tameer-e-school.pk. Individuals can also share their pictures with Hashtag # TameerEschool on Twitter. Besides this Imran khan has posted his own pictures, while working for construction, sitting with students in classrooms which are in worse condition.

Mr. Syed Javed, the Assistant President of United Bank Limited, offered 2.5 million rupees for campaigning and Mr. Jehangir Tareen, a PTI leader has contributed 2.5 million rupees.

Supporting this initiative Mr. Shahid Afridi said, children without education can be shaped in any manner, but if the young ones are educated they will be able to differentiate between vise and virtue. He further added, I am working on healthcare projects in tribal areas and hope that such education related projects may reach the tribal areas as well.

In a meeting with government officials and NGO representatives, it was decided that by July 20, 2014, the Agency for Technical Cooperation and Development (ACTED), would provide all facilities to these schools with cooperation of Parents Teacher Council.

Imran Khan showed Great Spirit of patriotism. In his speech he said, I will always be available for all such initiatives and not just for PTI but for all who are willing to work for poor. A Cancer hospital in Lahore, Shaukat Khanum is a result of great efforts and support, which is facilitating million of poor people. One more example is, Nimal University.

Pakistan only need, people who are eager to take country towards productivity which will give birth to a better Pakistan.
