Ufone Launches GSM Services in North Waziristan

In early March, Ufone launched its GSM services in Miranshah and Mir Ali, North Waziristan. The decision make as an effort to ensure uninterrupted connectivity and communication in the unserved North Waziristan.

Ufone has launched the Phase 1 of its services in the two cities, the launch was inaugurated by the Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mr. Mahmood Khan, along with Federal Minister for Communications and Postal Services Murad Saeed. Ufone plans on expanding to other cities in the region as well.

A Ufone representative speaking the local news on the occasion said,

“We are very happy to launch our services for our fellow Pakistanis in North Waziristan. We are thankful to the Government of Pakistan and Pakistan Army for their support to bring mobile communications to the district.”

 

The step to launch the GSM services in North Waziristan came after the prime minister’s his visit to the area in November, 2018.
