The Higher Education Commission (HEC) in collaboration with Huawei Technologies has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for the ICT Talent Development Program. As part of the agreement, Huawei Technologies will offer up to $2 million for the Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Talent Development Program.

Over the last decade, Huawei and the Higher Education Commission (HEC) have been working together on various initiatives for the promotion of ICT in Pakistan. Through the ICT Talanet Development Program, Huawei will be providing funds of up to $2 million under the Huawei Authorize Information and Network Academy (HAINA) for 30 universities, certification vouchers and seed funding for future programs.
Furthermore, the aim of the program is to encourage the study of advanced technologies through research and development work, help Pakistan step up IT-related exports and finance scholarships to Pakistani students.
