The United States Educational Foundation in Pakistan continued celebrations on December 9 to mark the launch of its newly built, state of the art facility in Islamabad, a development aimed at expanding access to educational resources and supporting Pakistani students seeking academic and professional growth. The purpose built campus has been designed as a central space for learning, collaboration, and cultural exchange, bringing multiple education focused initiatives under one roof while reinforcing long standing academic ties between Pakistan and the United States.
The newly inaugurated building houses a fully equipped auditorium intended for seminars, workshops, and cultural programming, alongside a Lincoln Corner that provides free access to educational materials, public lectures, and community based activities. It also includes dedicated EducationUSA advising services for students interested in pursuing higher education opportunities in the United States. An outdoor amphitheater has been developed as a multipurpose venue where entrepreneurship fairs, panel discussions, and cultural events can be held, encouraging open engagement and idea sharing among students, professionals, and educators. The facility is expected to function as an accessible platform for youth from diverse backgrounds who are seeking guidance, skills development, and exposure to global academic pathways.
As part of the celebrations, students, civil society representatives, alumni, community partners, digital influencers, and members of the media were invited to tour the new campus and explore its services. The U.S. Embassy’s Minister Counselor for Public Diplomacy Andy Halus led a media walkthrough of the building, underscoring the importance of this investment in Pakistan’s education ecosystem. He highlighted that education, innovation, and entrepreneurship have remained central to the relationship between the two countries, and noted that the new facility enables collaboration across these areas within a single integrated space. According to Halus, the initiative reflects a shared commitment to supporting future scholars and fostering people to people connections that extend beyond classrooms into professional and cultural domains.
The day long program also featured an entrepreneurship fair that brought together students, innovators, and early stage entrepreneurs to explore opportunities for collaboration and growth. This was followed by an entrepreneurship focused panel discussion with speakers representing the U.S. Embassy, National Incubation Center Islamabad, and Pakistan U.S. Alumni Network. The discussion examined U.S. government support mechanisms for entrepreneurship, the challenges faced by Pakistani innovators, and the evolving startup and innovation landscape in the country. Participants discussed access to mentorship, funding constraints, and the role of educational institutions in nurturing entrepreneurial thinking among young people.
In recognition of the 75th anniversary of USEFP and the Fulbright program, the Lincoln Corner hosted an open house for members, university faculty, and students from the local academic community. Friends of the Corner volunteers conducted interactive sessions showcasing free English language learning resources and programs available to Pakistanis aged 16 and above. Visitors also experienced technology demonstrations in the makerspace and creative studio, which highlighted how the facility is positioned as a hub for creativity, experimentation, and digital skills development. The new USEFP building brings together education, business engagement, and cultural exchange in one dynamic environment, reinforcing a shared focus on investing in youth, skills development, and long term progress through knowledge and collaboration.
