Yango Ride, a service under the global technology company Yango Group, has rolled out a new safety flow in its application for users in Pakistan. The updated feature integrates personalized safety checklists, a safety center, and real-time journey monitoring tools designed to make rides safer and more transparent. With this launch, Yango Ride aims to strengthen user trust and convenience through visibility and proactive safety engagement. The update is being gradually rolled out across all users in the country and will soon be available to the entire Yango Ride community.
The new safety center provides passengers with a comprehensive pre-trip checklist that guides them through essential actions to ensure a secure journey. These include reading onboarding materials, filling in personal details, adding trusted contacts, uploading a selfie for identification, and updating their email information. If any of these steps are incomplete, the app flags the missing information and prompts users to address it before proceeding. This feature allows passengers to access vital resources such as driver standards, conflict resolution assistance, and security tips before and during the ride. The main interface also offers immediate access to SOS and support options, ensuring help is available at all times during travel.
Miral Sharif, Country Manager for Yango Pakistan, emphasized that safety remains the company’s foremost priority. She stated that beyond implementing security technologies, it is equally important to make these safety features visible and transparent to users. The introduction of personalized safety checklists allows passengers to see the measures taken to protect them throughout the trip, from booking until arrival. This visibility strengthens accountability across the service, enhancing passenger confidence in Yango’s operational safety standards.
Yango’s upgraded system now also improves real-time visibility of journey safety status. Passengers can monitor which safety checks and features are currently active during a ride. The system includes several layers of monitoring such as driver identification verification, speeding control, and driving behavior analysis. Partner drivers must upload images of their driving license and a matching selfie before being allowed to accept rides. GPS tracking ensures speed is consistently monitored and compared with maximum limits on the route. In addition, sensors in the driver’s smartphone detect abrupt acceleration, deceleration, or unsafe maneuvers. Warnings are issued to drivers displaying risky behavior, and repeated disregard can result in restricted access to the service.
To further strengthen rider and driver protection, Yango Ride also includes in-ride insurance for both parties, ensuring coverage during all active trips. The company currently provides more than 30 safety features available before, during, and after rides. These include route sharing with trusted contacts, SOS integration, driving style monitoring, and other security mechanisms that enhance user experience while prioritizing safety. Yango Ride’s continuous updates in its Pakistan app reflect a consistent focus on combining technology and user awareness to ensure safer, more informed, and reliable transportation experiences for everyone using its platform.
