Islamabad – Google has announced the expansion of its ‘Google AI Plus plan’ to 40 more countries, including Pakistan, following what it described as a positive reception to the plan’s initial launch in Indonesia earlier this month. The company stated that the extension is designed to give users wider access to its advanced AI services at a more affordable cost, helping individuals boost productivity and creativity across multiple platforms. The move aligns with Google’s broader vision of strengthening digital capabilities in emerging markets where adoption of AI-enabled tools is on the rise.
According to Farhan Qureshi, Country Director of Google Pakistan, the rollout reflects a deep understanding of Pakistan’s fast-evolving digital environment. He said Pakistan’s growing user base has demonstrated significant interest in AI technologies and creative solutions. With the launch of Google AI Plus, Qureshi noted that the company is making its premium AI offerings more accessible to people across the country, as part of a larger effort to contribute to Pakistan’s ongoing digital transformation. This strategy also underscores Google’s commitment to supporting individuals in enhancing their productivity, learning, and innovation through cutting-edge AI applications.
The Google AI Plus plan introduces a comprehensive set of features aimed at both individual and collaborative users. Subscribers will have higher limits for image generation and editing through Nano Banana in the Gemini app, access to Gemini 2.5 Pro for complex queries, and availability of Veo 3 Fast — Google’s advanced video generation model — integrated into Gemini, Whisk, and Flow. Beyond these AI capabilities, the plan offers seamless integration of Gemini tools into Gmail, Docs, Sheets, and other Google Workspace applications, enabling users to create and manage content more efficiently. Additionally, subscribers will receive 200 GB of storage across Photos, Drive, and Gmail, with the option to share these benefits with up to five family members under a single plan.
Google stated that AI Plus is now available in Pakistan at a subscription fee of Rs1,400 per month, with first-time subscribers offered a 50 percent discount for the first six months as part of a limited-time promotion. The launch also follows discussions in July between Information Technology Minister Shaza Fatima Khawaja and Google’s Regional AI Developer Ecosystem and Communities team, which explored avenues for strategic collaboration to advance Pakistan’s AI landscape. Khawaja highlighted the government’s ongoing efforts to integrate AI training into education and workforce development, aligning public and private sector initiatives to strengthen the country’s capacity in emerging technologies.
