Ministry of IT and Telecommunication through the Universal Services Fund signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Huawei at the recently held Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain.
On behalf of USF, Syed Asif Kamal, Chief Technology Officer at USF signed the MoU. USF was established by the IT Ministry, which aims to promote the development of telecommunication services across Pakistan.
With this MoU in action, Huawei will be contributing towards digital development in Pakistan. Through appropriate utilization of its expertise in program design, training and sharing successful experiences of its national ICT portfolio across infrastructure broadband services, vertical public services and intelligent digital platforms, Huawei will spread the benefits of the telecom revolution to all over the Pakistan.

Speaking at the occasion, IT Minister Anusha Rahman said,
Huawei will provide the requisite expertise to MoIT through USF to develop National ICT services execution strategy, support Joint Innovation center (JIC) for empowering women benefiting from the USF ICT for Girls program and support and encouragement for the top three best performing graduates.
The Minister also stated that Huawei’s partnership will further upgrade the effectiveness of projects and will go a long way in socio-economic development of the people of Pakistan.
