Skype, Viber, Whatsapp and Tango to be banned in Sindh for Three Months

 

The Sindh Government has decided to ban instant messaging services including Whatsapp, Viber, Tango and Skype for security reasons. Provincial Information Minister Sharjeel Memon stated that there are several major operations in Sindh to take place and it is essential at the given moment to ban such communication tools which are possibly being used by terrorist groups, as currently government does not have a solid infrastructure to keep a track of all such telephony and internet communication. 

 

Mobilink Announces New Service for Voice Enabled Facebook Updates

Mobilink offers a unique voice enabled social media service for its customers where users can post a message or update status on Facebook wall as an audio file without the need of any internet connection. Users will have to register on Facebook with ‘Mobilink Bolay Facebook’ application.

 

ORBCOMM acquires SENS Asset Tracking Operation

ORBCOMM, the global M2M provider announced that the company has complete acquisition of Comtech’s Sensor Enable Notification System which also includes satellite hardware, network technology and web platforms. SENS is a market leader providing one-way satellite services and products to more than 20,000 subscribers. ORBCOMM also acquired GlobalTrak business that uses SENS technology for tracking application used for military containers in Pakistan as well as Afghanistan. 

 

LinkedIn Mobile Application Updated for iOS and Android

LinkedIn Mobile Apps following Apple’s iOS7 are being updated with added features and functionalities not only for iOS7 but also for Android phones. Application’s design and color schemes have been modified to match with iOS7, as other social networking applications have already opt to match latest operating systems. 

 

Facebook Using Instagram for Ads

Facebook announced that soon it would be putting ads on Instagram, the popular service for photos and video sharing, which was bought by Facebook for $1 billion in 2012. Facebook official said the company has been treading slowly to keep up the user experience and soon they would be using ads from handful of brands. 

 

Microsoft Asks HTC to Put Windows OS as on More Phones

Microsoft Corp is negotiation with HTC Corp for adding its Windows operating system as a second option to HTC’s android based smart-phones at little or no price to gain mobile market. HTC is the first company to make Windows and Android phones and it has not unveiled any further plans for Windows phone after it’s the last release Since June.
