Applications for DeafTawk’s online basic sign language course are now being accepted. This is a fantastic chance for students, professionals, and freelancers all over the country to learn sign language and have a significant social effect while also earning money.

Introduction to Sign Language, Foundation of Pakistan Sign Language, Sentences Approaches, and Advanced Vocabulary and Experimental Learning are the four modules of the online sign language curriculum. Participants will be able to establish a dialogue with the hard of hearing community by the end of the course, and will be well on their way to improving their skills and providing professional sign language services.

DeafTawk is a first-of-its-kind local firm that has built an online solution for connecting the deaf community with trained sign language interpreters while simultaneously aiming to build sign language interpreter capacity for quality services. DeafTawk’s internet tool allows deaf people to use a video call to connect with a skilled interpreter. The company also offers on-premises and content interpretation services in addition to internet interpretation.

With significant growth and traction in Pakistan, the startup is now scaling its operations in Singapore, Europe, and the USA. Talking about the impact, DeafTawk has over 19,500 users with 1,100+ interpreters on board. The startup offers interpretation services in 6 languages and has created 740+ jobs to date.

About the KhudHi Program

DeafTawk has introduced its KhudHi Program in order to continue their values of uplifting the community and creating more career opportunities. The programme is designed for people who want to gain new talents and put them to use in a variety of ways. Their goal with this effort is to empower youth and offer them with the tools and strategies they need to improve their socioeconomic condition while also supporting their families.

Khud Etimadi, the basic sign language course, is the first pillar of our KhudHi Program. The 8-week online course is delivered by nationally-known interpreters with an aim to introduce people to the world of sign language and help them develop their self-confidence. The online classes will be held on weekends and a certificate of completion will be given to participants at the end of the course.
