Zong 5G has secured two awards at the Pakistan Digital Awards, earning national recognition across two distinct areas of its operations: digital marketing and Artificial Intelligence-driven network technology. The company won the Best Social Media Campaign award in the Meta category for its My Zong App campaign, and received a Made in Pakistan Tech Excellence Award for its Self-Intelligent Radio Access Network Optimization Platform, a system the company developed entirely in-house and describes as the country’s first Level 4 autonomous closed-loop network optimization solution deployed on a live commercial network.

The My Zong App campaign was recognized at the Pakistan Digital Awards as a standout digital marketing initiative, demonstrating the company’s ability to connect with customers through innovative and customer-centric experiences. Designed to address the evolving connectivity needs of modern Pakistani families and social circles, the campaign strengthened customer engagement while reinforcing Zong 5G’s position as a trusted partner in Pakistan’s increasingly digital lifestyle. Commenting on the recognition, Sajid Munir, Head of Marketing at Zong 5G, said the My Zong App embodies the company’s vision of leveraging 5G, Artificial Intelligence, and emerging technologies to create intelligent and immersive experiences, describing the app as a platform that delivers a seamless, personalised, and convenient experience through a single touchpoint.

The Self-Intelligent Radio Access Network Optimization Platform was developed entirely in-house by Zong engineers within six months, and represents a significant milestone in localised technology by demonstrating the capacity for world-class innovation within Pakistan. The solution leverages advanced Artificial Intelligence and automation to proactively resolve network congestion, reducing resolution times by over 90 percent from days to minutes, while delivering up to an 18 percent improvement in peak-hour downlink throughput. The platform’s Level 4 autonomous classification means it can identify, diagnose, and resolve network issues without manual intervention across its defined operational domain, a capability that places it among the more advanced network management systems deployed commercially in the region.

Ali Waqas, Executive Director of Information Technology at Zong, noted that winning recognition for both a customer-focused initiative and a pioneering Artificial Intelligence-powered network platform demonstrates the strength of the company’s integrated approach to digital transformation, adding that Zong 5G remains committed to harnessing Artificial Intelligence, automation, and next-generation technologies to deliver exceptional experiences and contribute meaningfully to the country’s digital transformation agenda. The dual recognition reflects a broader positioning Zong 5G has been pursuing, presenting itself not merely as a connectivity provider but as a technology enterprise with capabilities spanning consumer applications, enterprise solutions, and self-optimising network infrastructure.
