Women Techmakers Kolachi has announced Jehan Ara, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Katalyst Labs, as a featured speaker at Blaze 5.0, a women-only event scheduled for July 4, 2026 at DigitalOcean in Karachi, where she will share insights drawn from over two decades of building Pakistan’s technology and startup ecosystem.

Jehan Ara’s session, titled Lessons From 20 Years of Building Pakistan’s Tech Ecosystem, will offer one of the more substantive career retrospectives available at any technology event in Pakistan this year, given the breadth and depth of her contributions to the sector over that period. She has served as President of PASHA, founded The Nest I/O, one of Pakistan’s most recognised technology incubators, and has worked continuously to support entrepreneurs and women leaders through startup acceleration and leadership initiatives that have shaped the careers of hundreds of technology professionals and founders across the country. Her contributions have earned her the Tamgha-e-Imtiaz, one of Pakistan’s highest civilian honours, as well as recognition among the world’s Top 100 Tech Changemakers, placing her among a small group of global figures acknowledged for their impact on the technology industry at a systemic level.

Blaze 5.0 is a full-day event running from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM and is exclusively open to women, reflecting Women Techmakers Kolachi’s focus on creating dedicated spaces for women in technology to learn, connect, and develop professionally. The session format gives participants direct access to one of Pakistan’s most experienced and widely respected technology leaders in an intimate, community-oriented environment rather than a large conference setting. Interested participants can register through the official registration link.

about
CWPK Legacy
Launched in 1967 internationally, ComputerWorld is the oldest tech magazine/media property in the world. In Pakistan, ComputerWorld was launched in 1995. Initially providing news to IT executives only, once CIO Pakistan, its sister brand from the same family, was launched and took over the enterprise reporting domain in Pakistan, CWPK has emerged as a holistic technology media platform reporting everything tech in the country. It remains the oldest continuous IT publishing brand in the country and in 2025 is set to turn 30 years old, which will be its biggest benchmark and a legacy it hopes to continue for years to come. CWPK is part of the SPIN/IDG Wakhan media umbrella.
