Nothing has officially revealed the full design of the Phone 4b ahead of its complete launch on July 7, 2026, and the budget handset from the London-based brand founded by Carl Pei has delivered a couple of surprises that distinguish it from what earlier teasers and leaks had suggested.
The most unexpected design element is the camera configuration. Early signals had pointed toward Nothing deploying a single rear camera module on the Phone 4b, a stripped-back approach that would have set it apart from virtually every other device in its category. The official reveal confirms instead that the Phone 4b will carry a dual camera setup, mounted in the upper section of the rear panel. The general aesthetic of the device also resembles the premium Nothing Phone 4a Pro more closely than the standard Phone 4a, with the brand’s trademark semi-transparent elements restricted to the top third of the handset where the camera module sits, rather than running across the full rear panel as on earlier Nothing designs. A small circular dimple motif in the bottom left edge of the device further echoes the Pro’s visual language.
The Phone 4b retains the simplified Glyph Bar that Nothing has used across its lineup, offering face-down notification functionality and other interaction features that have become a signature element of the brand. Nothing has also confirmed enhanced durability for the device, describing improved structural strength and a soft, skin-friendly finish designed for comfortable all-day use, suggesting the Phone 4b is being engineered to a higher physical standard than the price point might typically suggest. The device has been confirmed in a blue colourway, consistent with the blue option available on the Phone 4a, though the full colour lineup including potential pink, black, and white variants has not been formally announced ahead of the July 7 event.
The Phone 4b will sit below the Nothing Phone 4a in the brand’s lineup, with pricing expected to be confirmed at the full launch event on July 7 at 11 AM British Summer Time, which will be streamed live on Nothing’s YouTube channel. The device marks a notable strategic shift for Nothing, bringing what was previously a separate sub-brand offering under the main Nothing name rather than continuing the CMF product line as a distinct identity.
