Pakistan Freelancers Association is hosting the second session of its From Freelancer to Founder 5.0 series on Tuesday, June 30, 2026, from 3:00 PM onwards at the National Incubation Centre Karachi. The session, titled Build the Business: From Freelancer to Founder Workshop, is focused on helping freelancers leverage design and branding tools to build credible business identities and convert their individual skills into structured, scalable ventures. Registration is open at https://lnkd.in/dhnCQS4E, and participants are encouraged to secure their spot in advance given the limited capacity of in-person sessions at NIC Karachi.

The workshop will centre on Canva as a practical tool for professional design, branding, and visual communication, skills that have become increasingly essential for freelancers seeking to position themselves not just as service providers but as recognisable brands in competitive international markets. Participants will learn how to use Canva to create professional-quality design assets, develop a consistent brand identity, and apply those skills to real business opportunities that go beyond individual project delivery. The session is being co-hosted with Canva Community Karachi, bringing together two active communities within Karachi’s freelancing and startup ecosystem to create a learning environment that combines community-driven knowledge sharing with structured workshop instruction.

The From Freelancer to Founder series, now in its fifth edition, reflects PAFLA’s sustained commitment to supporting Pakistan’s freelancing community not just in developing technical skills but in making the transition from working independently to building businesses that can grow, hire, and contribute meaningfully to Pakistan’s digital economy at a larger scale. The series addresses a gap that has historically limited the ceiling of growth for many talented Pakistani freelancers: the jump from being an excellent individual practitioner to building an organisation around that expertise requires a different set of skills in branding, positioning, client communication, and business operations that are rarely covered in conventional skills training programmes.

PAFLA Chairman Ibrahim Amin and President Dr. Imran Batada are among the organisers attached to the event, alongside PAFLA team members Fahad Sheikh, Manar Gulzai, Maham Aslam, and Hunain Bin Sohail. The identity of the expert speaker for Session 2 had not been publicly announced at the time of this writing, with PAFLA inviting the community to guess ahead of the reveal. Freelancers, aspiring entrepreneurs, designers, and digital business builders in Karachi are encouraged to register and attend what is shaping up to be one of the most practically focused sessions in the From Freelancer to Founder 5.0 series.

Launched in 1967 internationally, ComputerWorld is the oldest tech magazine/media property in the world. In Pakistan, ComputerWorld was launched in 1995. It remains the oldest continuous IT publishing brand in the country and in 2025 is set to turn 30 years old, which will be its biggest benchmark and a legacy it hopes to continue for years to come.
