Ufone, Telenor And PTCL Calls Now Counted As On-Net Minutes Across All Bundles

Customers using Ufone, Telenor Pakistan, and Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited can now make calls between the three networks using on-net minutes across all bundles, following PTCL’s acquisition of Telenor Pakistan and the ongoing integration of services. The development marks an important operational change in Pakistan’s telecom sector, where call packages have traditionally separated on-net and off-net minutes based on network boundaries, often affecting user costs and call durations. The updated policy now allows subscribers across the integrated telecom ecosystem to communicate more freely without consuming off-net allocations.

The shift comes as PTCL moves forward with the integration of Telenor Pakistan into its wider telecommunications structure, which already includes Ufone as its mobile services arm. Industry observers view the move as a practical step toward service alignment and customer convenience, especially as the merger process continues through regulatory and operational phases. Earlier this year, Pakistan Telecommunication Authority also initiated formal proceedings related to the transfer and amalgamation of Telenor Pakistan’s mobile licenses into Pakistan Telecommunication Mobile Limited, operating under the Ufone brand. This process is expected to consolidate network operations under a unified structure in the coming months.

For subscribers, the new arrangement is expected to improve bundle efficiency and reduce the need to manage separate call balances for different networks within the PTCL group. Users who previously had to preserve limited off-net minutes for calls between Ufone and Telenor will now be able to use standard on-net allocations, making communication simpler for families, businesses, and professional networks that rely on cross-network interaction. PTCL landline calls are also part of this revised structure, broadening the practical impact for users across fixed and mobile networks.

The change reflects broader consolidation trends in Pakistan’s telecom sector as operators seek operational efficiency, improved customer retention, and better resource utilization amid growing competition and rising demand for digital services. As network integration between Ufone and Telenor continues, customers may see further service harmonization, including package adjustments, infrastructure optimization, and broader digital offerings. For now, the revised on-net call treatment offers immediate benefits to millions of users by making bundled voice services more flexible and cost efficient across the PTCL telecom ecosystem.
