IT Minister Invites Swedish Technology Companies to Invest in Pakistan

According to recent reports, Pakistan’s Federal Minister for Information Technology and Telecommunications, Syed Amin Ul Haque, has asked a number of Swedish IT businesses to invest in the country’s technology sector.

Federal Secretary Ministry of IT & Telecom Dr. Sohail Rajput, Chairman PTA Maj Gen (r) Amir Azeem Bajwa, Executive Director Frequency Allocation Board (FAB) Brig (r) Muhammad Tahir Ahmed Khan, and senior officers of the Ministry of IT briefed on the discussions. During the meeting, both sides emphasised the increased cooperation in the fields of information technology and telecommunications.

The minister told Sweden’s Ambassador in Pakistan, Henrik Persson, how much Pakistan cherishes its ties with Sweden in the ICT sector, emphasising the importance of communication and future planning for both countries to prosper. He also added that Pakistan wished to profit from Sweden’s recent advances in fields such as Big Data, the Internet of Things, Artificial Intelligence, and others.

Finally, the Swedish envoy endorsed the concept of paramount progress in the IT sector, adding that Swedish firms will soon invest in Pakistan.
