He emphasized the need to focus on the value-addition of products so that they could have a competitive edge in the global market. The President made these remarks while chairing a briefing, organized by Enablers: Amazon FBA Pakistan, on Emerging Opportunities in the wake of Pakistan’s inclusion in Amazon’s list at Aiwan-e-Sadr, today.

Saqib Azhar, CEO of Enablers, Syed Javed Hassan, Chairman NAVTTC, Aisha Humera Moriani, Senior Joint Secretary Ministry of Commerce, Aisha Humera Moriani, senior members of various e-commerce associations, representatives from the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) and the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), and senior government officials were present at the meeting.

The CEO gave a presentation to the group about the promise of e-commerce as well as the challenges that Amazon and e-commerce sellers confront. While praising Pakistan’s inclusion on Amazon’s seller list, the President emphasised the importance of educating young entrepreneurs on the ins and outs of e-commerce.

The Chairman of the National Vocational and Technical Training Commission (NAVTTC) told the gathering that his organisation was working to teach young entrepreneurs about e-commerce so they could take advantage of new economic opportunities.
