There is a new hub for innovation in the city of Lahore called the Innovation District 92, it is to not only operate as a co-working space or a training center, but is to be a complete entrepreneurial experience that comprises of designing pre-incubation training to be incorporated in the curriculum of the university.

 

The entrepreneurs will get to be part of District 92 following their appearance in Idea Croron Ka, Pakistan’s leading startup show, to help them raise investment and grow their customer base. Basically, Innovation District 92 is to operate on a model that is new to Pakistan’s entrepreneurial ecosystem where startups will get first hand access to resources of NEO TV network and FM 106.6 to market their accomplishments.

 

Innovation District 92 is backed by the Superior Group, and Nabeel Qadeer is to take the role of the Chief Innovation Officer. Speaking to IDG Pakistan he said, “The new role that I have taken up recently. As the CIO of the group, I have the responsibility of instilling the agenda of innovation in their education system (including 1 university, 150+ colleges & 350+ schools), spanning its impact across the entire media group including NEO Network, Nai Baat Newspaper and Radio FM 106.6 – Entrepreneurs ki Awaz respectively.”

 

The innovation center was launched on the 17th of March in Lahore, with the honorable Counsel General Elizabeth Trudeau present at the occasion. Some of the notable people from the industry that were present at launch included: Abdul Rehman Talat, CEO BlueEast and Director Marketing Orient, Zafar Khan, CEO Sofizar, Suneel Munj, Co-founder Pakwheels,  Salim Ghauri, CEO Netsol, Ali Iqbal from Ignite, Qaiser Ansari, CEO Pantera Energy, and S.M Imran, Chairman MEPA at EO, Deans of Superior University.

 

Speaking about the incubator, Nabeel Qadeer at the launch said, “Our incubator will be going all across the world, and the start will represent Pakistan. This is only the beginning in making Pakistan an economically superior Pakistan.”

 

The board members also known as the Change Accelerators for the Innovation District 92 include: Hasnain Sheikh – Chairman and CEO, inov8 Ltd Pakistan; Suneel Sarfaraz Munj – Founder and CEO, PakWheels; Umar Farooq – Founder, Tech Valley Abbottabad and Managing Director, FutureNow Technologies; Jamil Goheer – Cofounder & CEO, Kualitatem and Cofounder & General Partner, CoVentures; Sheharyar Ali – Executive Director, Treet Group of Companies; Rabeel Warraich – Founder & CEO, Sarmayacar; Abdul Rehman Talat – Founder & CEO, Blue East and, Sales & Marketing Director, Orient Group of Companies; Abbas Yousafzai – Cofounder and CTO, Yotascale; Jawwad Farid – Director & CEO, Alchemy Technologies; Farhan Masood – Founder & CTO, Soloinsight Inc; Alicia Dean – Senior Public Relations Specialist and Marketing & Communications Consultant, City of Austin; S. M. Imran – Chairman, MEPA Region EO and Qaiser F Ansari – CEO, Pantera Energy.
