Special Technology Zones Authority (STZA) has announced that the Islamabad Technopolis Project is moving into its next phase. The project is developed by the authority, and it envisages a purpose built technology and innovation ecosystem spread across approximately 140 acres of strategically located land in Islamabad. STZA described it as a flagship project, and it said that it is thrilled to take the plan forward. The announcement was made on October 14, and it marks a transition from the study stage of the project to the stage in which the commercial structure of the development is prepared for investors.

With the support of the Public Private Partnership Authority (P3A) and its Project Development Facility (PDF), STZA is officially advancing towards a Public Private Partnership (PPP) mode for the project. The authority said that this approach is intended to attract top tier technology enterprises, global investments and world class talent. A PPP arrangement allows the government and private investors to share the work of developing and running a project, and the involvement of P3A and its facility means that the project will be prepared under the framework that the government has set up for such partnerships.

The step follows a successful pre feasibility study that was undertaken by Kearney. STZA is now inviting proposals for a Transaction Advisor, who will lead masterplan optimization, detailed commercial structuring, market sounding and competitive procurement. The adviser will be responsible for taking the project to commercial and financial close, which is the point at which the agreements between the parties are signed and the financing is in place. These tasks cover the main stages that lie between a study and the start of construction, from refining the plan for the land to testing the interest of the market and selecting private partners through a competitive process.

The deadline for the submission of proposals is November 23, 2026, at 11:30 AM. STZA closed its announcement with an invitation to join it in building a world class innovation hub. The post was shared with hashtags that include P3A, STZA, SIFC, IslamabadTechnopolis, PublicPrivatePartnership and ProjectDevelopmentFacility. Firms that wish to act as Transaction Advisor for the Islamabad Technopolis Project have until the deadline to submit their proposals to the authority, and the selected adviser will then guide the project through the stages of structuring and procurement towards commercial and financial close.
