On Wednesday, there was a brief hack on the website of StormFiber, one of the top internet service providers in Pakistan.

“This morning, our website https://www.stormfiber.com was attacked by foreign hackers and the home page was changed. No customer payment data was compromised as the website stores limited public, static content,” an official statement issued by the company said.

In any event, the business pulled the website down to sanitise it and repair the vulnerability before bringing it back up, the statement continued. “On the side, next month will see the launch of our brand-new website, which was developed using the most recent infrastructure and technology. This regrettable situation on our current website happened while it was being tested.”

Users go on to an external Internet Payment Gateway (IPG) to make payments, according to the top internet service provider (ISPR), where they are prompted for their card information each time.

“As we don’t keep payment information at the moment the payment is processed, we do this. Tokenization is currently being enabled so that card numbers may be saved securely; nevertheless, for the time being, the most secure approach is to manually enter card information each time.”
