According to reports, laptop charging through placement on top of an item connected to the laptop generating power is being tested by hardware maker Dell.
The patent, which was not made public by Patently Apple, may not be used, but it demonstrates that the business is looking at additional wireless charging options for laptops.
The tablet was revealed to have a wireless charging clip fastened to it right below the keyboard utilising magnets and a power output connector. The clip, which comprises a charging coil and ferrite sheet, will have devices positioned on top of it.
However, Apple employs an attachment that was used and fitted within the MacBooks and charges any device resting on top. Apple has earlier investigated comparable patents for a slightly different charging alternative.
Instead of only charging Apple items, Dell’s gadget could attach to other computers and charge several devices simultaneously.
Many businesses are testing wireless charging technologies, such as Ikea’s charger mounts under the table or workstation. A charger plugged into an outlet will send electricity straight to gadgets in a Wi-Charge system that is also being developed.
