Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) has launched a new mobile customer facilitation unit named the Sahulat Van in Karachi’s Gulistan e Johar, introducing a doorstep service designed to make gas related customer support more accessible and convenient. The initiative enables residents to access essential services without visiting a physical customer facilitation centre, helping reduce travel time while improving the overall customer service experience.
The Sahulat Van has been introduced as part of SSGC’s efforts to enhance customer engagement by delivering services directly within residential communities. According to the company, the mobile unit will provide assistance for a wide range of routine complaints and service requests that customers would normally have to submit at a customer facilitation centre. Residents will be able to report gas leakage complaints, low gas pressure issues, and faulty gas meters through the mobile unit. In addition to handling technical complaints, the Sahulat Van will also assist customers with billing related concerns, including the correction of billing errors, resolution of billing disputes, and the printing of duplicate gas bills on the spot. Customers seeking information about obtaining new gas connections will also receive guidance regarding the application process and required procedures through the mobile service.
SSGC selected Gulistan e Johar as the first location for the initiative after identifying the area as one of the locations generating a high number of customer complaints and service requests. By positioning the Sahulat Van in the neighborhood, the company aims to improve response times and make it easier for residents to access support without the need to travel to a permanent customer service office. The mobile unit allows customer representatives to interact directly with consumers, resolve issues more efficiently, and provide immediate assistance for common service requests. The approach is intended to improve customer convenience while helping SSGC manage service demand more effectively across its existing facilitation network.
The introduction of the Sahulat Van reflects SSGC’s focus on improving public service delivery through more accessible and customer focused solutions. Bringing essential utility services closer to residents supports faster complaint handling and simplifies processes that traditionally required visits to fixed service centres. By offering complaint registration, billing support, duplicate bill printing, and guidance for new gas connections at customers’ doorsteps, the company is working to make routine interactions more efficient and convenient. The initiative also helps reduce pressure on existing facilitation centres while ensuring that customers receive timely assistance within their own communities, supporting a more responsive and service oriented approach to utility management.
