Square Enix has maintained its existing financial forecast without providing a more specific release date for Final Fantasy VII Revelation, leaving some uncertainty around exactly when the third and final entry in the Final Fantasy VII Remake series will arrive. The company has officially confirmed that the game is scheduled to launch in Spring 2027, but its latest financial outlook has not provided additional details that would narrow the launch window. The situation has attracted attention because the company’s financial projections do not clearly indicate whether the highly anticipated title will contribute to the current fiscal year or arrive after it.

Square Enix announced Final Fantasy VII Revelation during Summer Game Fest in June 2026, confirming it as the concluding chapter of the Final Fantasy VII Remake saga. The game is planned for simultaneous release on PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox Series X|S and personal computers through Steam, Epic Games Store and Xbox PC. The announcement also confirmed a Spring 2027 release window, although Square Enix has not yet announced an exact day or month. Director Naoki Hamaguchi and English voice actor Matt Mercer, who voices Vincent Valentine, presented the official reveal trailer and an extended gameplay demonstration during the announcement. The upcoming title will continue the story established by Final Fantasy VII Remake and Final Fantasy VII Rebirth while serving as the final instalment in the remake trilogy.

The latest financial outlook from Square Enix has renewed discussion about whether Final Fantasy VII Revelation could launch before the end of the company’s fiscal year on March 31, 2027. Square Enix’s financial results for the fiscal year ended March 31, 2026 projected net sales of ¥298 billion for the following fiscal year, compared with ¥297.661 billion recorded in the previous period. Operating income was forecast at ¥49 billion, compared with ¥54.736 billion in the year ended March 31, 2026. The company’s published forecast does not specifically identify Final Fantasy VII Revelation as a contributor, leaving room for uncertainty over how the game is reflected in its projections. However, the absence of a specific title from a financial forecast does not by itself confirm that the game has been delayed beyond March 2027.

For now, Spring 2027 remains the official release window for Final Fantasy VII Revelation, with Square Enix yet to announce a specific launch date. The timing is significant for the publisher because the game is planned to arrive during the 30th anniversary year of the original Final Fantasy VII. The title will also be released across a wider range of platforms at launch than the earlier entries in the remake series, potentially allowing Square Enix to reach players on PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox Series X|S and PC simultaneously. Until the company provides a firm date, the financial forecast is unlikely to offer a definitive answer on whether the game will arrive before March 31, 2027 or later in Spring 2027.
