A meeting was held under the chairmanship of Secretary Zahid Ali Abbasi of the School Education and Literacy Department, Government of Sindh, with Teach the World Foundation to discuss the proposed Phase III of the Accelerated Digital Learning Program and its long term sustainability. The discussion centered on how to move the digital learning initiative forward as it enters a new phase of implementation across the province.
The meeting focused on the proposed scope, learning outcomes, cost effectiveness, geographical coverage, monitoring mechanisms and effective resource utilization, alongside identifying a sustainable pathway for mainstreaming the program into Sindh’s broader education system. Secretary Abbasi emphasized the importance of a financially viable, evidence based and sustainable approach, along with regular performance reporting and avoiding duplication with existing education interventions already operating in the province.
Teach the World Foundation, a Washington D.C. based nonprofit founded to enhance global literacy using digital technology, has previously worked with the Sindh Education Foundation on digital learning initiatives aimed at reaching out-of-school children in developing communities. The organization’s programs are designed specifically for underserved populations, positioning it as a longstanding partner in Sindh’s broader push to expand digital education access across the province.
The meeting was attended by the Special Secretary for the Programme Development Fund, the Managing Director of the Sindh Education Foundation, the Director of Non-Formal Education, along with representatives of the Reform Support Unit, the Finance Department, the Planning and Development Department, Teach the World Foundation and other concerned officials. The breadth of departmental representation reflects the cross cutting financial and administrative considerations involved in scaling a digital learning program to its third phase within Sindh’s public education system.
