The Sindh Minister for IT Environment and Costal Development Nawab Muhammad Taimur Talpur recently announced that the Sindh government is to establish an information technology board.
The announcement was made at the ‘Smart Cities & Digital Transformation’ event that was held at the National Incubation Center in Karachi. In his speech, the Minister mentioned that Sindh has remained behind in tech solutions, amid other problems, mainly because the province did not have a platform, which could promote IT solutions.
Speaking on the occasion, the Ambassador of Sweden in Pakistan Ingrid Johansson said,
“Sweden’s industry, academia and government collaborate in clusters that produce start-ups and innovations for sustainable growth and the same can be done in Pakistan. I look forward to increased trade and knowledge-sharing between Sweden and Pakistan.”
Meanwhile, Tundra Pakistan Country Head Muhammad Shamoon Tariq speaking on the occasion said,
“We want to make the business community of Pakistan understand that sustainability and profitability go hand in hand. Sustainable businesses will be more profitable in medium to long term.”
Furthermore, the importance of technology was stressed upon by Swedish illusionist Charlie Caper who said that technology could bring a rich country down and boost growth in a poor country.
