The Center for Digital Assets Research (CeDAR) at LUMS is organizing a major summit on blockchain and digital assets under the title “A Leadership Summit on Blockchain and Digital Assets: Technology and Innovation.” The event is scheduled for Saturday, August 23, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM at Serena Hotel in Islamabad. This full-day summit aims to bring together professionals, entrepreneurs, decision-makers, and academics to engage in deep discussions around the transformative role of blockchain technologies and the evolving digital asset ecosystem.

The summit agenda is designed to address both foundational knowledge and advanced use cases. It will begin with a practical introduction to blockchain, helping attendees gain a strong grasp of the underlying principles of the technology. This will be followed by a session exploring the broader cryptocurrency landscape, focusing on Bitcoin, Ethereum, and other major digital currencies. Additional sessions will cover the growing relevance of stablecoins and tokenized assets, providing insights into their use cases and economic potential. The final session will focus on the critical area of technology infrastructure and security considerations, offering valuable perspectives on protecting digital systems in a rapidly evolving space.

Leading the sessions will be experts from LUMS, including Dr. Zartash Afzal Uzmi, Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Electrical Engineering; Dr. Basit Shafiq, Professor in the Department of Computer Science; and Dr. Naveed ul Hassan, Associate Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering. Their academic and research expertise ensures that the summit’s discussions remain grounded in both technical rigour and real-world applicability.

The event is designed not only to educate but also to connect various stakeholders in the blockchain space. By the end of the day, participants are expected to walk away with a comprehensive understanding of blockchain fundamentals, smart contracts, stablecoins, and the critical security frameworks necessary to support digital innovation in Pakistan’s technology landscape.

Registration for the event is now open, with an early bird fee of PKR 15,000 per person available until August 5, 2025. After this date, the regular registration fee of PKR 20,000 will apply until the final deadline of August 15, 2025. The fee includes full-day access, lunch, and two refreshment breaks. Due to limited seating, participants are encouraged to confirm their registration early.

To register, attendees must visit https://register.lums.edu.pk/, create an account, complete the form, download the payment voucher, and email the proof of payment to cedar@lums.edu.pk. An alternate registration link is also available at https://lu.ma/1wxtiqb7.

For further information or queries, CeDAR can be reached via email at cedar@lums.edu.pk or by phone at +92 42 3560 8000-3332. The summit marks a significant step in fostering national dialogue on the role of blockchain and digital assets in reshaping technology, governance, and commerce in Pakistan.
