Sindh government is undergoing a major overhaul of its transport sector with the launch of a comprehensive digitization and automation project. Led by Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon, the initiative aims to streamline processes, improve transparency, and enhance safety.

The project encompasses the Sindh Mass Transit Authority (SMTA), Provincial Transport Authority (PTA), Regional Transport Authority (RTA), and Trans Karachi. Key features include online applications for route permits, fitness certificates, and body makers’ permits, as well as a new public complaint center.

Minister Memon highlighted the benefits of the digital transformation, including increased efficiency, reduced administrative burden, and enhanced revenue generation. He also emphasized the importance of the project in improving passenger safety through a more robust vehicle fitness certificate system.

The government has committed to regular progress reports and will implement the project in phases.
