Samsung on February 25 introduced its latest wireless earbuds, Galaxy Buds4 and Galaxy Buds4 Pro, at the same event where it unveiled the Galaxy S26 series. The new audio devices signal a measured refinement of the company’s wearable strategy, with a sharper focus on comfort, portability, and improved sound performance. Samsung stated that 58 percent of its users wear earbuds daily and typically depend on a single pair for calls, music, and entertainment, prompting the company to prioritise long term wearability and consistent audio quality across varied use cases rather than pursuing cosmetic overhauls.
Design updates centre on practicality. The redesigned charging case allows the earbuds to rest flat, enabling quicker removal and easier storage during routine use. A transparent lid remains part of the case design, offering a view of the updated hardware inside. The stems now feature a flat brushed metal finish, replacing the triangular blade style seen previously. Samsung has engraved the touch sensitive areas to make gesture controls easier to identify by feel. Users can manage playback and calls using pinch and swipe gestures. The standard Galaxy Buds4 adopt an open fit design aimed at improving comfort during extended listening sessions. While open fit earbuds typically compromise active noise cancellation performance, Samsung has equipped both models with Enhanced Adaptive Active Noise Cancellation, designed to reduce consistent background sounds such as engine noise while still allowing important external audio cues, including emergency sirens, to be heard.
Audio upgrades are more pronounced in the Pro variant. The Galaxy Buds4 Pro include an upgraded two way speaker system featuring a woofer and tweeter that are nearly 20 percent larger than those in the previous generation Pro model. The earbuds support up to 24 bit 96 kilohertz high fidelity audio playback, catering to users seeking greater clarity and depth in music reproduction. Both models introduce Super Clear Call technology, delivering 16 kilohertz call quality and improved background noise suppression during voice communication. Samsung has also incorporated gesture based hands free controls, allowing users to nod to accept calls or shake their heads to decline them, extending functionality beyond traditional touch input.
The earbuds are compatible with a wide range of smartphones, though deeper integration is available within the Galaxy ecosystem. When paired with a Galaxy device, the Buds4 connect without requiring a separate application, and users can access volume controls, active noise cancellation settings, and ambient sound adjustments directly through the Quick Panel interface. Bixby integration allows for smart home device management, and the Interpreter feature supports real time translation across multiple languages. The Galaxy Buds4 are available in Black and White, while the Galaxy Buds4 Pro are offered in Black and White, with an additional Pink Gold option available online. Pre orders are currently open, with shipments scheduled to begin on March 11, coinciding with the retail availability of the Galaxy S26 series. Pricing remains unchanged from the previous generation at 180 dollars or 180 euros for the standard model and 250 dollars or 250 euros for the Pro variant.
