Samsung has announced an upgraded version of its Freestyle portable projector for 2026, named Freestyle+. The new model delivers double the brightness of its predecessor, reaching 430 ISO lumens, while introducing AI-powered screen optimization features designed to improve projection quality across diverse surfaces. Freestyle+ maintains the 180-degree rotation and 360-degree audio capabilities of earlier models, while also adding Q-Symphony support to integrate seamlessly with compatible Samsung soundbars. The company confirmed the device will be showcased at CES 2026 in Las Vegas, running from January 6 to January 9, but has not shared detailed specifications or pricing information.

The AI-powered features in Freestyle+ expand on the automatic capabilities of previous Freestyle projectors, such as auto focus and auto leveling. Samsung’s new AI OptiScreen technology introduces 3D auto keystone correction to correct image distortion on uneven or non-flat surfaces. The system also provides real-time focus adjustment when the projector is moved, automatic screen fitting for compatible accessories, and wall calibration to reduce visual distractions caused by projection surfaces. Freestyle+ will further support Samsung’s Vision AI Companion, enhancing usability and streamlining setup for home and professional users.

While Samsung has not yet provided a specific release date, the company aims to launch Freestyle+ in the first half of 2026, with availability rolling out in phases across global markets. The upgraded projector is positioned as a versatile solution for home entertainment, meetings, and creative applications, emphasizing portability, AI-driven optimization, and connectivity features that integrate with Samsung’s broader ecosystem of devices. By combining higher brightness levels, AI screen adjustment, and audio enhancements, Freestyle+ is designed to meet the demands of users seeking flexible projection solutions in multiple environments.

CES 2026 is expected to offer a closer look at the Freestyle+ projector, allowing attendees to experience the improved brightness, AI capabilities, and integrated audio features firsthand. Samsung’s continued focus on portable projection technology reflects a broader trend in consumer electronics, where compact devices with intelligent features and smart connectivity are increasingly sought after. The Freestyle+ positions itself as a next-generation option in Samsung’s projector lineup, offering practical upgrades for users who require high-quality visuals, adaptive screen management, and immersive audio in a compact form factor.

This launch highlights Samsung’s strategy to leverage AI and smart technology to enhance everyday devices, providing users with more intuitive and efficient tools for entertainment, presentation, and content consumption. The combination of advanced projection features, real-time adjustments, and seamless integration with audio systems underlines Samsung’s commitment to improving user experience through innovation and technological refinement.
