Samsung is expected to host its first Galaxy Unpacked event of 2026 in February, continuing a product cycle that follows a busy 2025 marked by new foldables, an ultra thin smartphone form factor, and the debut of Google’s XR platform on Samsung hardware. While the company has not yet issued official invitations, industry watchers anticipate that the event will focus on the Galaxy S26 lineup alongside updates to Samsung’s audio products, foldable roadmap, and artificial intelligence features. As with previous years, live coverage and hands on impressions are expected to follow shortly after the announcements.

The Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26 Plus, and Galaxy S26 Ultra are likely to anchor the event, with early leaks suggesting Samsung will maintain a conservative design approach. The upcoming models are expected to closely resemble the Galaxy S25 series, featuring flat displays, flat frames, rounded corners, and vertically aligned rear cameras housed in a pill shaped module. Rather than visual changes, the most notable updates are expected to come from internal hardware. All models are widely rumored to use Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, although reports from Yonhap News indicate that Samsung may again deploy its Exynos 2600 chip in select regions. Regardless of chipset variation, performance gains and improved on device AI processing are expected across the lineup.

Leaks suggest the base Galaxy S26 could feature a slightly larger 6.3 inch FHD Plus display compared to its predecessor, paired with 12GB of RAM, storage options of 256GB or 512GB, and a modestly increased 4,300mAh battery. Camera hardware is expected to remain unchanged, retaining the same main, ultrawide, telephoto, and front facing sensors used on the Galaxy S25. The Galaxy S26 Plus is rumored to see even fewer changes, with similar display size, battery capacity, memory configuration, and camera setup, aside from the processor upgrade. The Galaxy S26 Ultra is expected to introduce more noticeable refinements, including slightly raised cameras with a metallic finish and a possible return to an aluminum frame after two generations of titanium construction. Reports also suggest Samsung may alter its S Pen input technology by removing the traditional digitizer layer to enable full Qi2 wireless charging support without requiring a special case.

Audio accessories are also expected to receive attention, with Samsung rumored to announce the Galaxy Buds 4 and Galaxy Buds 4 Pro. Following the redesign introduced with the Galaxy Buds 3 series, the new models are expected to feature a more compact charging case and smoother, less angular stems. Support for head gesture controls to manage calls is rumored, along with the inclusion of an Ultra Wideband chip that could enhance location tracking through Google’s Find Hub network. These changes would bring Samsung’s earbuds closer to feature parity with competing premium wireless audio products.

Samsung may also use Galaxy Unpacked to provide updates on the Galaxy Z TriFold, a foldable device first revealed in late 2025 and showcased at CES 2026. While availability details for North America remain unclear, the presence of hands on demos suggests the company may outline broader release plans. Additionally, the Galaxy S26 Edge is expected to return as a distinct option rather than replacing the Plus model. Rumors point to a revised camera design inspired by Pixel and iPhone Air styling, along with an even slimmer profile measuring around 5.5mm.

Software announcements are also anticipated, particularly around artificial intelligence. Samsung is expected to showcase a new version of its Bixby assistant, potentially integrated with Perplexity’s AI powered search, following reports of an ongoing partnership. Alongside continued collaboration with Google and Gemini, these updates are likely to highlight Samsung’s broader strategy of expanding AI functionality across OneUI and its device ecosystem.
