The U.S. Embassy in Islamabad, in collaboration with the National Science & Technology Park (NSTP), has announced the launch of the second cohort of the Rising Startup Success Challenge (RSSC), a 9-month program designed to support female founders and business owners from minority groups in Pakistan. This initiative aims to empower underrepresented entrepreneurs by offering them seed funding, mentorship, and access to world-class resources to help scale their startups.

The RSSC is an innovative program that provides participants with an invaluable opportunity to grow their businesses through comprehensive support. It focuses on nurturing entrepreneurs from minority communities and women, promoting diversity and inclusivity within Pakistan’s business ecosystem. The program offers a unique combination of startup training, mentorship, and seed funding, making it an attractive opportunity for aspiring business owners looking to make a mark in the market.

A standout feature of the RSSC is its seed funding award. Winners of the competition will receive PKR 1 million to further develop their business ideas. Additionally, the program includes a fully funded visit to the United States, allowing participants to explore innovation hubs and connect with industry experts. This exposure to global best practices and networks will provide participants with crucial insights and opportunities to accelerate their business growth on the international stage.

In addition to the financial and international exposure opportunities, participants in the RSSC will benefit from one-on-one mentorship from seasoned industry leaders. This guidance will be pivotal in helping the entrepreneurs refine their business models, navigate challenges, and identify new avenues for growth. The program’s comprehensive startup training will equip them with the tools they need to manage and scale their ventures effectively.

A key component of the RSSC is the partnership with the National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST) and its Innovation Ecosystem at NSTP. NUST, one of Pakistan’s leading academic institutions, has long been a hub for fostering innovation and entrepreneurship. Through the RSSC, participants will gain direct access to NUST’s vast network of resources, research, and mentorship opportunities. This collaboration provides a platform for participants to accelerate their ideas and connect with experts in various fields of innovation.

The focus on empowering women and minority groups is a cornerstone of the RSSC, as it aims to create an inclusive entrepreneurial landscape. By providing access to funding, mentorship, and knowledge, the program seeks to level the playing field for underrepresented entrepreneurs in Pakistan. This initiative reflects a broader global commitment to fostering diversity and inclusivity in business, and it has the potential to drive significant social and economic change in Pakistan’s startup ecosystem.

Applications for the RSSC Cohort 2 are now open, and interested founders and business owners from minority groups and women entrepreneurs are encouraged to apply. The program runs for nine months, giving participants ample time to develop their startups with expert guidance and support. The application process is straightforward, with a direct link provided to facilitate easy access for interested candidates.

Through the Rising Startup Success Challenge, the U.S. Embassy, in collaboration with NSTP (NUST), continues to support Pakistan’s entrepreneurial ecosystem by providing resources that enable entrepreneurs to thrive. This initiative exemplifies the power of mentorship, funding, and education in transforming ideas into successful businesses. As the RSSC Cohort 2 kicks off, it is expected to have a lasting impact on the entrepreneurial landscape of Pakistan, enabling local businesses to compete on the global stage and fostering a more inclusive, diverse economy.
