The government has allocated Rs. 90 million for the construction of 25 Software Technology Parks (STPs) around the country to promote IT startups, freelancers, SME’s, and IT businesses.

Both Pakistan and the IT sector will gain from this considerable acceleration of growth. It will also strengthen linkages between local universities and the IT industry.

By converting dilapidated public and privately owned office buildings, factories, and warehouses, it is anticipated that 25 STPs will be established throughout the country, particularly in Karachi, Lahore, and Islamabad, to provide IT-enabled office space to IT & ITeS enterprises at competitive prices.

The initiative made an effort to bring together leading-edge technological companies in an environment that encouraged cooperation toward a shared objective. This initiative will also motivate companies to increase IT remittances and international commercial ties.

CWPK Legacy
Launched in 1967 internationally, ComputerWorld is the oldest tech magazine/media property in the world. In Pakistan, ComputerWorld was launched in 1995. Initially providing news to IT executives only, once CIO Pakistan, its sister brand from the same family, was launched and took over the enterprise reporting domain in Pakistan, CWPK has emerged as a holistic technology media platform reporting everything tech in the country. It remains the oldest continuous IT publishing brand in the country and in 2025 is set to turn 30 years old, which will be its biggest benchmark and a legacy it hopes to continue for years to come. CWPK is part of the SPIN/IDG Wakhan media umbrella.
