Fans of The Witcher franchise will be returning to Geralt of Rivia’s world much sooner than expected, as Reigns The Witcher is set to arrive on PC and mobile devices on February 25, 2026. While CD Projekt RED has confirmed that its next mainline title, The Witcher 4, is not expected until at least 2027 and was absent from recent major showcases, this upcoming spin off offers a fresh way to experience Geralt’s legendary adventures. Developed by Nerial and published by Devolver Digital, the game introduces the signature swipe based storytelling mechanics of the Reigns series into the rich fantasy universe of The Witcher, blending choice driven gameplay with illustrated narrative scenes.

Reigns The Witcher retells Geralt’s journey through the voice of the bard Dandelion, who narrates the monster slayer’s exploits as a series of evolving tales. Players will swipe left or right at key moments to determine how events unfold, influencing alliances, conflicts, and the fate that ultimately awaits Geralt. Much like other entries in the Reigns franchise, each decision shapes the direction of the story, often leading to unexpected outcomes and, in many cases, Geralt meeting an untimely end. The structure encourages repeated playthroughs, allowing players to explore alternate storylines while gradually building a more complete and dramatic version of Dandelion’s legendary performances.

At the end of every narrative run, Dandelion adds the completed tale to his growing log of stories, which expands the player’s ability to craft more complex and compelling narratives over time. This progression system rewards experimentation and creative choices, even when those choices stray from established Witcher lore. While the game does not aim to faithfully recreate every event from Geralt’s original adventures, it focuses instead on offering an engaging and often humorous reinterpretation of the world, filled with moral dilemmas, political intrigue, and the personal struggles that define the Witcher universe. The combination of illustrated visuals and swipe based interaction reflects Nerial’s approach to making narrative heavy experiences accessible on both mobile platforms and PC.

Reigns The Witcher marks the sixth entry in Nerial’s Reigns series, which will reach its tenth anniversary in August 2026. Since the launch of the original Reigns and its follow up Her Majesty, the studio has successfully adapted the formula to popular franchises such as Game of Thrones and Three Kingdoms, along with a science fiction themed installment titled Reigns Beyond. Beyond the Reigns series, Nerial also gained critical attention for its 2022 indie title Card Shark, known for its distinctive art style and card based deception mechanics. With The Witcher themed installment arriving early in 2026, players will have a new way to engage with Geralt’s world while awaiting further updates on future Witcher projects, including ongoing speculation around additional content related to The Witcher 3.
